With combined experience of more than 75 years, DHIM’s licensed counselors and clinical social workers are committed to helping our patient’s manage life’s challenges and meet their quality of life goals. Working in partnership with the patient and his/her medical providers, DHIM counselors and social workers develop individualized treatment plans addressing:

Preparing for Your First Appointment

Most commercial insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid/AHCCCS are accepted by DHIM.  Please call us to verify that your insurance is accepted.

Please arrive to your first appointment at least 15 minutes early and bring the following items:

For Spanish-only speaking patients, the client’s right statement and treatment consent and registration forms are available in Spanish. DHIM also includes providers fluent in Spanish. Interpreter services are also available.

Nancy Tinger LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor

Nancy Mione Tinger is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) who is dedicated to the wellbeing of her patients. She received her graduate degree from Marywood University in Scranton, PA in 1990 and has been facilitating therapy with adults, children, and families since completing her education.
Prior to working at Desert Horizon, Nancy invested fifteen years of counseling and case management services to the Apache Junction community in Pinal County, including in-office and school-based counseling with school staff, Child Protective Services (CPS), juvenile probation officers (JPO), and the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
Nancy facilitates marriage and family counseling and individual therapy for adults and youth. Her expertise encompasses adjustments and transitions, assertiveness, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), childhood abuse, anxiety, depression, grief, post-traumatic stress, self-esteem, and life enrichment. She utilizes cognitive and dialectal behavioral therapy with an integrative health awareness approach. Nancy is skilled in art and play therapy and is a member of the American Counseling Association and Mental Health America (MHA).

Leanne Milsap
Leanne Milsap LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Leanne is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), registered play therapist- supervisor, and infant family specialist, who has been working with children, adolescents, and adults since 2002; her primary focus has been children and adolescents. She earned a Bachelor of Art degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Social Work with a specialization in child welfare from Arizona State University.
Leanne has worked extensively with individuals who have experienced a variety of trauma, grief and loss, and abuse issues. She has specialized training in both play therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). In addition to play therapy and EMDR, Leanne uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapeutic interventions to help individuals achieve emotional wellbeing and overall quality of life.
Leanne is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Infant Toddler Mental Health Coalition of Arizona, and the Arizona Branch of the Association for Play Therapy.

Krista Sheldon LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Krista Sheldon, LCSW completed a Master of Science in Social Work at Arizona State University. She has been working with children, adolescents, and adults- with a primary emphasis being children and adolescents- since 1997.
Krista has worked extensively with individuals who experience mood disorders (i.e. anxiety, depression), trauma, and grief and loss. She has specialized training in facilitating “Parenting with Love and Logic” trainings, trauma informed care, and modified EMDR. In addition, she employs CBT, dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT) and solution-focused therapeutic interventions to help individuals achieve emotional growth and wellbeing.
